All Incentives available to different industries in J&K extended to Film also. Incentives include renting of equipment for Film Shootings, Theatres, Cineplexes, Single Screen Theatres, Multiplexes etc
The applications for Location permissions and the incentive/subsidy applications processed through online mode only.
At the permitted shooting locations, one dedicated Administrative Nodal Officer and One Security Nodal Officer is provided for the Facilitation.
For Time-Bound service delivery, Film Shooting Permissions and release of Subsidy is brought under the ambit of J&K Public Services Guarantee Act.
The human interference has been done away with. The applications are processed through Single Window Portal only.
In order to avail subsidy under JK Film Policy 2024, the project should be shot in J&K for a minimum of 20 days.
The Quantum of incentive linked to number of shooting days, COP (Cost of Production), Awards Won and the theme of the Film.
To encourage and Incentivize Film making in J&K, a corpus of Rs.500cr, is kept for five years.
No discrimination is made in the release of incentives on the basis of Languages, Genre, Religion etc.
Films Shot in J&K winning National Awards from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI and Films winning International Awards or Films based on patriotic theme will be awarded an additional 25% subsidy.
J&K Film Eco System set up by UT of J&K as a facilitation point for the film producers and production companies to get requisite permission, guide and inform the film makers on shooting locations and the facilities available in J&K.
