PFMS training conducted for J&K
Planning and Finance Officers
SRINAGAR, MAY
02: The J&K Finance Department today
organized a training program on the Public Financial Management System (PFMS),
in collaboration with Ministry of Finance PFMS Division New Delhi and SD PFMS J&K
in the Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
Led by PFMS expert
trainers from both Delhi and J&K, the program focused on various PFMS
modules, including Single Nodal Agency (SNA), Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT),
and report generation of centrally sponsored schemes.
Over 120
participants comprising of Planning and Finance Officers from various
Departments and Chief Planning/ Districts Statistics & Evaluation Officers
from all 20 Districts attended the training programme either in person or
through virtual mode.
The participants
gained insights into crucial operations related to financial management of
centrally sponsored schemes like on-boarding state linked schemes on PFMS
portal, creation of child agencies, vendor management and beneficiary payments.
Key highlights of
the training included discussions on setting drawing limits, hierarchy mapping,
and effective report utilization.
Emphasis was placed
on optimizing PFMS for streamlined financial operations and accurate reporting.
The two days
training, inaugurated jointly by Director Expenditure Madan Gopal Sharma,
Director General Budget, Yaqoob Itoo and State Nodal Officer, Shakeel Maqbool,
emphasized the importance of utilizing PFMS for efficient financial management
of centrally sponsored schemes.
Participants were
encouraged to leverage the platform for accurate reporting and streamlined
operations. Officers were advised to avail this opportunity and get all their
doubts about PFMS clarified from the experts who have come from New Delhi in
the final session of the training to be held on 3rd May 2024.
This training shall
enrich knowledge of J&K Government Officers in making effective use of PFMS
platform for financial management and monitoring centrally sponsored schemes
which benefit a large section of our population.
