Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Mehandi Competition under SVEEP campaign organised at Kishtwar KISHTWAR, APRIL 01: In anticipation of the upcoming General Elections in the Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, a vibrant initiative under the SVEEP campaign unfolded in Kishtwar district with the organization of a Mehandi competition. Spearheaded by the District Election Office (DEO), Dr. Devansh Yadav and under the close supervision of Nodal Officer SVEEP (Deputy District Election Officer) Idrees Lone, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation. The Mehandi Competition, hosted at GHSS Girls Kishtwar, saw spirited engagement from girl students representing various schools and GDC Kishtwar. Their participation not only showcased their artistic talents but also underscored their commitment to SVEEP campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha Election. A number of enthusiastic female students participated, showcasing their artistic prowess by adorning their hands with intricate designs and empowering messages. Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav inspected the exhibits of the students. The exceptional performances were duly recognized and felicitated, encouraging the students to serve as ambassadors to spread awareness about voting rights and ethical voting practices. With the polling scheduled for 19th April for the Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, emphasis was laid on maximizing women's participation in the electoral process. The event served as a beacon of civic engagement and electoral awareness, setting the stage for a vibrant and inclusive democratic exercise. The event also witnessed the presence of District Information Officer Kishtwar, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, STO Kishtwar Maneet Sharma, Nodal Officer for Women Polling Stations, Chandan Manhas and Chahat Bharti and Principal GHSS Girls Kishtwar, Krishan Lal among others.
