Health Deptt Bandipora Organises Training Prog on 'Climate Change
& Human Health'
BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 22: The Health
Department Bandipora, on Saturday organized a training cum sensitization
programme for medical officers at Mini secretariat Bandipora.
The programme organised under National Programme on Climate Change and
Human Health was aimed at educating healthcare professionals about the impacts
of climate change on human health.
The training session was presided
over by Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Bandipora, Dr. Rafi Ahmad Salathi, who emphasized the importance of
understanding the health risks posed by climate change.
He stressed that climate change is a
growing concern, and highlighted the role of medical officers in mitigating its
impact on public health.
The District Programme Manager
National Health Mission (NHM), Saleem Yousuf, conducted the proceedings of the
programme, which included discussions on various health-related challenges
linked to climate change.
On the occasion, Resources persons
(medical officers) deliberated on
various topics including climate-related health issues, including vector-borne
diseases, respiratory problems, and heat-related illnesses.
During the porgramme, the
participants discussed various measures equipping healthcare professionals with
the knowledge and tools necessary to combat the health risks posed by climate change.
Among others the training programme
was attended by BMO Bandipora, Medical officers
and other concerned.
