DC reviews implementation of National
Tobacco Control Programme in Samba District
SAMBA, FEBRUARY 20:
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma today chaired the meeting of District
Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) on the National Tobacco Control Programme
(NTCP) here at the DC Complex.
Convened by the
office of Chief Medical Officer, the meeting focused on strategizing effective
tobacco control in the district. Divisional Coordinator NTCP Shweta presented a
Power point presentation on the Program and
its implementation.
The meeting
emphasized strict enforcement of the COTPA Act and regular monitoring and
evaluation to track progress and address emerging challenges.
The discussions
reinforced a collaborative approach, underling the need for taking effective
measures to curb tobacco use and promote public health awareness in the
district.
The meeting was
attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Virender Singh Manhas; Additional
District Development Commissioner, Champa Devi and other district officers and
other stakeholders including the members of civil society.
