DC Reasi chairs meeting of District
level task force on Geology and Mining
REASI, JANUARY 17:
Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik convened a crucial meeting of the
Multi-Departmental District Level Task Force Cell for Geology and Mining to
address issues of illegal mining, regulate minor mineral extraction, and ensure
sustainable development in the district.
During the meeting,
the Deputy Commissioner issued Key directives, including the establishment of
minor mineral blocks in hotspot areas to regulate activities and curb
unauthorized mining.
The Irrigation
Department was tasked with identifying dredging locations to safeguard bridge
infrastructure and remove accumulated materials.
She also instructed
authorities to intensify their efforts in seizing illegally stocked minerals,
while the introduction of QR-coded e-challans was emphasized to intercept
unregulated mineral transportation effectively.
Furthermore, the DC highlighted that
tehsil-level task forces will now submit weekly progress reports to ensure
accountability and prompt action.
The Deputy
Commissioner also directed the exploration of new minor mineral blocks to meet
local demands, with collaborative efforts involving the Revenue, Forest, and
Geology and Mining Departments.
SSP Reasi Paramvir
Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Mineral Officer, Divisional
Forest Officers, Executive Engineer Mahore Irrigation Division besides senior
officials of the concerned departments were present during the meeting.
